👋 Hi, I'm Sai Yalamarty. I started in Mechanical Engineering, picked up a graduate degree in Petroleum Engineering, and landed somewhere I didn't plan on: Principal Research Engineer at Corva, building algorithms for the upstream oil and gas industry.
At Corva I take drilling algorithms from research to production — the data science behind them, the Python that implements them, and the scoping, testing, and deployment that put them in front of users. I care about the whole path from idea to shipped product, not just the model at the center of it.
Python has been home for most of my career, but these days I spend a lot of time on the web side too — TypeScript, React, and the design details that make an interface feel good. I'm also deep in the LLM rabbit hole, both as a tool for my day job and as something worth understanding on its own. Most of what I learn along the way ends up here as the posts, apps, and experiments on this site.
